I suddenly decided to list my unit at the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki for sale, and the first person that came to mind was Miki. I've known her for years and had frequent interactions with her, especially on Facebook. When I found out she had become a real estate agent in recent years, I thought, "She's the one I'll entrust this to," and reached out. The reasons I chose her were because she seemed energetic, hardworking, honest, and quick on her feet. But after actually working with her, I realized it was rude of me to have added "seemed" to those qualities. As an agent, she truly is energetic, hardworking, honest, and quick on her feet—and beyond that, she's incredibly dedicated to learning and improving. When I talked to my American friends who were also selling units at the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki, they mentioned it typically takes over a year to sell. So, I was prepared for that kind of timeline. However, thanks to Miki's agility, diligence, energy, and honesty, the unit sold in just about three Real estate transactions in Hawaii are quite different from those in Japan, but Miki explained everything clearly when I wasn't familiar with the process. When technical documents from escrow came flooding in, she patiently answered all my questions about which ones were relevant to me and what needed my immediate attention. Thanks to her, I had no concerns throughout the process and successfully completed the sale. Compared to other agents in Hawaii, one of Miki's standout strengths is her fluency as a true bilingual. Some agents in Hawaii speak good Japanese but may lack confidence in English or have accents that make it hard for others to understand them. This can sometimes make buyers or sellers uneasy. In fact, one of my American friends once told me they felt uncertain because an agent's English was difficult to understand. With Miki, however, there are no concerns about communication. She bridges the gap between sellers and buyers seamlessly. Even though I'm bilingual myself, there were many technical terms in real estate that I wasn't familiar with, and I appreciated how Miki was able to follow up and explain everything clearly. If you're considering selling or buying a property in Hawaii, I understand you may have existing relationships with other real estate agents, but ultimately, you should choose the agent who will bring you the best results. It's similar to finding a good doctor. However, I do advise against using an agent just to get information and then switching to another agent later-such actions can hurt deeply. In any field, results speak volumes. Watching Miki work as a real estate agent, I could see that her success comes from not only her knowledge and experience but also her dedication to preparation, research, and behind-the-scenes efforts. Once negotiations begin, she invests considerable time and energy into maintaining close communication with all parties involved. Why isn't there a six-star rating?
Our family was fortunate to meet Miki over a year ago when we began considering buying a home in Hawaii. Miki maintained contact with us until we were ready to actively begin looking, and once we began looking, she was patient and supportive of our desires. Miki worked tirelessly to ensure our dreams were met, and a year later, we found our dream home. Miki is the most patient, responsive, and kind real estate agent we have ever worked with, and we are beyond appreciative of having met her. Miki has also surrounded herself with professionals who have also assisted along the way. We plan to maintain a relationship with her as she has become a member of our Ohana.
When I suddenly decided to put my unit at the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki up for sale, the first person who came to mind was Miki. I'd known her for years and often spoken to her, especially on Facebook. She'd recently become a real estate agent, so I contacted her to entrust the project to her. The reasons I asked her were because she seemed energetic, hardworking, honest, and quick on her feet. However, when I actually asked her to help, I quickly realized that adding the word "so" to the description was rude. As an agent, she was indeed energetic, hardworking, honest, quick on her feet, and eager to learn. When I talked to my American friends who were selling units at the Ritz Waikiki, it was common for it to take more than a year, so I was prepared for it to take that long, but Miki's characteristic quick footwork, seriousness, energy, and honesty helped, and the property sold just three mo…

As an agent, she was indeed energetic, hardworking, honest, quick on her feet, and eager to learn. When I talked to my American friends who were selling units at the Ritz Waikiki, it was common for it to take more than a year, so I was prepared for it to take that long, but Miki's characteristic quick footwork, seriousness, energy, and honesty helped, and the property sold just three months after it was put up for sale! Buying and selling real estate in Hawaii is different from buying and selling in Japan, but she carefully explained things I wasn't familiar with, and the English documents that ESCROW sent me in rapid succession were so technical that I wondered which ones were directly relevant to me and which ones I really needed right away, but she patiently answered my questions, allowing me to complete the sale without any worries. I think one of Miki's strengths over other Hawaii agents is her thorough bilingualism. Some agents in Hawaii can speak Japanese fluently, but if their English is half-baked or their pronunciation is too pronounced, it can make both buyers and sellers a little uneasy. In fact, a friend in the United States once came to me for advice, saying that he was worried because he found a certain agent's English difficult to understand. In Miki's case, she is fully bilingual, so communication between sellers and sellers is 100% flawless. Even though I'm bilingual, there are still many technical terms that come up in the real estate world that I'm unfamiliar with, so I thought it was good that she followed up and explained them thoroughly. If you're thinking of selling or buying a property in Hawaii, you may have a conflict of interest with the real estate agent you've used in the past, but since you're the one wanting to sell or buy, I think it's a good idea to go with the agent who will give you the best results. In that sense, it's a similar feeling to looking for a good doctor. However, please don't do something rude like only getting the information you want from an agent and then switching to another agent later! That would probably be the most hurtful thing to do. Someone who can get results. I think this is the same in any field, but whether you're selling or buying, agents not only rely on the knowledge they've gained from their past experience, but also spend a lot of time and effort on behind-the-scenes activities like preliminary research and preparation, and once negotiations begin, close communication with the other party. That's what I felt from watching Miki as an agent.
Our agent, Miki, was incredibly responsive and on-the-go from listing to sale. She was also incredibly caring, so we felt at ease leaving everything in her hands. My husband and I were treated like a team, and while there were certainly challenges, I believe we overcame them with the teamwork of the three of us. She kindly and carefully took the time to explain the sale process, step by step, from closing to closing. We were able to ask questions and discuss anything easily, and she responded quickly! Since we live in Japan, she always greeted our room with care and cleaned and prepared it for potential buyers during showings. She kept us updated on everything during and after showings, which was very reassuring. She is perfectly bilingual and treated both sellers and buyers with sincerity.
